External Conferences

Find on the map the external conferences we are either sending a delegation or to or recommend to attend as an individual. Once you have found one you may be interested on the map, you can follow through links to view more details, and, if we are sending an official delegation you may apply for a spot on the delegation via one of our forms. If you are successful we will send you further information about fee payment, unless we have decided to fund the fees completely. If there are any conferences on here that you would recommend a delegation be sent to, please let one of the secretariat know through our email or Facebook and we will consider it.


Manchester MUN (partner conference)

Manmun will be taking place from the 20-22 of October 2017 and the delegate fee will cost £30 along with an optional social pack of £30. The conference is highly recommended for beginners wanted to ease into MUN conferences as well as getting to know people on the MUN circuit in the UK. Manchester has countless social activities to choose from in the evenings outside of the conference.

Transport to Manchester from Nottingham is generally done via regular trains (trains can be booked at National Rail or East Midlands Trains) and takes just over two hours. The cost will vary depending on times and if you are holding a rail card. Accommodation information can be found on their site at http://www.manmun.co.uk/accom/, including further information on transport within Manchester. Manchester is regarded as generally cheap, so more cheap can be found outside of their suggested list. Oxford MUN

Oximun will be taking place between the 3-5 of November 2017 and this year there is only the option of the complete pack (delegate fees+social pack) that has a cost of £96. The conference is a highly prestigious conference in the UK and will attract many delegation from outside of the country, especially from mainland Europe such as Belgium and the Netherlands. Despite this, the conference is still suitable for beginners, especially for those wanting to get a kick start to their MUN career. The city itself boasts fantastic architecture and green spaces making it a nice trip for escape from the city.

Transport to Oxford from Nottingham is generally done via regular trains (trains can be booked at National Rail or East Midlands Trains) and is likely to involve at least one change. Direct travel to Oxford bus station (next to the University) can be done by coach for a potentially cheaper price, visit National Express for more information. Accommodation information can be found on their site at http://www.oximun.org/prep-accommodation.php, including further information on transport within Oxford on further pages. Oxford itself is a bit more pricey than other cities so other forms of accommodation may be harder to find. Reading MUN (partner conference)

RuMUN will be taking place between the 1st and 3rd of December 2017. The delegate fees and social fees are on the affordable end of conference prices. As with ManMUN, this conference is highly recommended for beginners wanted to ease into MUN conferences as well as getting to know people on the MUN circuit in the UK. RediMUN is great for a friendly environment and getting to know fellow MUNers on the circuit.

Transport to Reading from Nottingham is generally done via regular trains (trains can be booked at National Rail or Cross-country) and it usually stops one or two stops, the prices can be high but also quite low depending on the times the train is taken. Reading is regarded as generally cheap, food and accommodation is on the same price level as Nottingham. We will be sending delegation to RUMUN 2017. London International MUN

Limun will be taking place between 23rd-25th of February 2018. Delegate fees are on the high end of UK conferences and the social pack -which is not include- is highly recommended. The conference is the largest in the UK and will attract many delegation from outside of the country. Despite this, the conference is still suitable for beginners as it has different level committees. Especially for those wanting to get a strong start to their UN career. The conference is held mostly in Imperial College with ceremonies in central Westminster. The speakers are usually of high rank and thought provoking speeches.

Transport to London from Nottingham is generally done via regular trains (trains can be booked at National Rail or East Midlands Trains) and takes around two hours. Prices without railcard for an open return are usually at 40£. Accommodation in London can be very expensive and it is advised that you aim to stay at hostels or other means to minimise the costs. Travel in London is best done by tube or buses, having an oyster card or contact-less credit/debit card is useful and can cut costs. Leeds MUN

Leedsmun will be taking place in TBA and the delegate fees and social fees are on the affordable end of conference prices. The conference is highly recommended for beginners wanted to ease into MUN conferences as well as getting to know people on the MUN circuit in the UK. Leeds MUN is known for its friendly environment and warm welcoming socials. The location also has countless social activities to choose from in the evenings outside of the conference.

Transport to Leeds from Nottingham is generally done via regular trains (trains can be booked at National Rail or East Midlands Trains). Leeds is regarded as generally cheap, food and accommodation is on the same price level as Nottingham. Cardiff MUN (partner conference)

Cardiffmun will be taking place between the 9th and 11th of February 2018. The delegate fees and social fees are on the affordable end of conference prices. As with LeedsMUN, conference is highly recommended for beginners wanted to ease into MUN conferences as well as getting to know people on the MUN circuit in the UK. Cardiff MUN is greatfor a friendly environment and getting to know fellow MUNers on the circuit. CardiffMun is also recommended for their high level Crisis committee.

Trinity College MUN (partner conference)

TrinMun 2018, the second edition of Trinmun, will be taking place between the 8th and the 10th of March in the capital city of Ireland. Delegate fees usually include socials and are about 25€. This makes this conference the most affordable conference we will be sending a official delegation to. This conference is highly recommended to beginner delegates that want to expand their network to outside the UK. Transport to Dublin from Nottingham is done via plane. Ryanair offers low-cost flights from East Midlands airport to Dublin from £42 return if its booked in advanced. We will be sending delegation to Trinmun 2018. ScotMUN

ScotMUN is known as the main conference in Scotland, It can serve as a nice close to home get away from the city life. It is known for good socials and a friendly atmosphere. The conference will take place between the 2nd and 4th of March 2018.

Transport can be done by train or also by flight from East Midlands Airport. The prices can vary depending on how early it is booked. You can view information on the conference here http://www.scotmun.com/. We will be updating details for this conference by the end of the first semester.
